South Canal is a census-designated place (CDP) in Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,346 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Youngstown–Warren–Boardman, OH-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,346 people, 478 households, and 383 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 830.9 people per square mile (320.8/km²). There were 493 housing units at an average density of 304.3/sq mi (117.5/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.51% White, 0.30% African American, 0.07% Native American, 0.07% Asian, and 1.04% from two or more races.
