Millican is named after Robert Millican, the first white settler of the region that would come to be known as Brazos County.

Millican is located in southern Brazos County at 30°27?59?N 96°12?10?W? / ?30.466433°N 96.202798°W? / 30.466433; -96.202798. It is 14 miles (23 km) southeast of the city of College Station.
