The first two stores built in East Enterprise were built by Daniel Heath JR a revolutionary war veteran from Mass.He built one for himself and one for his daughter angeline across the road where riemans store used to be She sold dresses and dry goods His father Daniel Heath came to America when he was young settled in Mass. where some of his 17 children were born. Daniel Heath who settled near East Enterprise donated the land for New Liberty Cemetery and his home place was the property where the oaks family used to live I think Riemans own it now He then moved to the west of East Enterprise and started a town Allensville named after his son Allen William Heath who got killed in the war of 1812 East Enterprise had the first newspaper in the county ran by Daniel Heath who owned the first printing press. East Enterprise Had a really nice park at one time. The last living owner was Paul Dean Lockwood (Chocky) as he was called. He donated the land to the East Enterprise Fire Department The park was a home for many years to the East Enterprise Ohio County fair. Having upwards of 6000 visitors a day during the fair. The Heath GAR lodge building used to stand on the NW corner of the intersection in town it was torn down to make a parking lot. It was named after Daniel Heats son who died in the war of 1812 so east Enterprise has been here longer than Indiana has been a state lol A lot of the oldest houses are being bought by the amish and torn down and now the state will get the rest of the town due to HWY 101 being brought through it. A real shame so much history will be lost. There isa real estate developer trying to buy up everyones homes along the route of the Highway. I assume to get rich. I wish the state would go a little east of the town and preserve whats left of it It has a lot of history as does Allensville a very famous surgeon was from Allensville. There used to be a sign there telling about him. sources: Fred Lockwood Lifelong resident about 2/10s of a mile from the house he was born in and a history book in Rising Sun Library which now may be in the museum in Rising sun. Its a shame the county doesn’t seem to care about East Enterprise It has a lot of rich history as does Allensville Indiana also. The very first post office in East Enterprise was also run by Danie Heath in part of the store across from Daniel Heaths store most recently was called Riemans grocery but used to be Angeline Heath Lockwoods dry goods store. Jennie Lockwood ran the store. Where S N S grocery is now used to be Brunners Hatchery and Fred Lockwood worked there as a young man long before there were social security taxes He and Opal A, Scudder were married July 28th 1915 and lived in the same house their whole married life of 73 years. It is a shame that all the old people are gone and so many city folk and amish are there now so it is quite different than it used to be. I wish the fire dept would open up the park again. It used to have 80 acres deemed a park Im sure it isn’t that big now, so you see East Enterprise was quite the place to be in its hey day. It used to have 3 drs in town Fred and opal borrowed Dr Jonas Halls buggy to go to Vevay for ice-cream on their wedding day. The Brown family used to have a feed mill out 250 a piece. It burnt down many years ago and was a meeting place for all the old farmers of the area. The little white house and big red barn just to the south of the water town belonged to Fred Lockwoods parents Oliver Perry and nez Ricketts Lockwood. It was moved there on logs by teams of horses from the sallie lockwood farm where I think the Johnsons own now There used to be a very nice home there but I think Mr Johnson tore it down when he bought the place many years ago The house on the north side of S N S Grocery was built by Samuel Lockwood many years ago it was the telephone exchange in the 60s then they built the new exchaned across from the park/fire dept. THERE USED TO BE A PLASTIC MOLDING PLANT CALLED pmc A lot of ppl fred knew worked there including his great great grandson. They have their stray animal shelter there now I was surprised since you can see the contaminated ground in aerial pictures of the site. Fred Lockwoods great granddaughter wrote and book of poetry in 1974 It was called Truckstop Tales. It is out of print now . It was mostly love poetry. She was a good poet.

Legal or NON-Legal DNA Tests

At times persons in need of a DNA test will look for the cheapest method or a home DNA kit, however a cheap or "do it yourself" DNA test many times are not accurate or will stand a legal challenge or can successfully defend a legal challenge in a court of law. Not all laboratory's or DNA testing centers are equal. Accredited Drug Testing only uses DNA testing East Enterprise qualified and certified testing centers and nationally recognized DNA testing East Enterprise laboratories.

When scheduling a DNA test regardless of the purpose, Accredited Drug Testing recommends always utilizing a legal DNA test procedure for current or future use. A legal DNA test has very specific Chain of Custody test procedures which insures that the DNA test results can be used in a legal proceeding. A non-legal DNA test will provide the results, but cannot be used in any type of legal matter. When conducting a legal DNA test all parties must present a valid form of identification, photographs will be taken of all parties, legal guardian documentation and or birth certificates of any minor children may be required. These procedures for a legal DNA test insure that should the DNA test results be used in a legal proceeding, the chain of custody is carefully followed and no challenge to the results can be successfully made, that's why it's always best to schedule a legal DNA test.

DNA testing can be used for the following purposes

  • Birth Certificate Modification
  • Child Support
  • Child Custody
  • Adoption
  • Wills/Insurance
  • Immigration

DNA Paternity Testing East Enterprise

A DNA test for paternity purposes determines the biological father of a child. Every human inherits specific DNA from both biological parents, half from the mother and half from the father. A DNA test examines a child's DNA pattern with that of a alleged father to determine if the child and the alleged father have the same DNA. Results of a properly administered DNA test utilizing a AABB accredited laboratory are 99.9% accurate. While DNA paternity testing maybe stressful for some parties involved, Accredited Drug Testing is committed to making the entire DNA paternity testing experience, professional, convenient, confidential and Stress Free.

Establishing a biological relationship is important and has many benefits including

  • Medical history for the child
  • Establishing legal, custodial and inheritance claims
  • Enhances the family unit and bond between father and other family members

When administering a DNA test to a child/minor, the legal guardian must be present and provide authorization for the DNA test to be conducted. The legal guardian can be the mother, father or other natural or court ordered person who has legal decision making authority over the minor child.

DNA Immigration Testing

DNA testing can be used for reasons relating to immigration and the biological relationship between a petitioner and affiliated individual. DNA immigration testing can be used for paternity tests, maternity tests, sibling relationship and other purposes required by the U.S Department of State. Accredited Drug Testing will coordinate the entire process, including scheduling the DNA test for parties located in the United States and forward the DNA collection kit to the U.S Embassy located in a foreign country where the other party is located. Once the DNA collection has occurred at one of our testing centers in the U.S and at the U.S Embassy where the other parties are located, Accredited Drug Testing will ensure that all specimens are sent to the lab for DNA testing and provide the results once the AABB laboratory has analyzed the DNA test.

What is a DNA test?

A DNA test is a procedure to determine if exact biological characteristics exist in one person's DNA and those exact same DNA characteristics in another person's DNA makeup. As humans each of us have different DNA makeup, however parents and children have the same DNA, siblings from the same parents have the same DNA and grandparents have the same DNA as grandchildren. A DNA test is a non-intrusive procedure usually utilizing a oral swab from all parties, which then follows a specific chain of custody process in which the oral swab specimens are sent to a certified and accredited AABB laboratory. The Laboratory than analyzes the DNA specimen and provides the results. DNA test results are 99.9% accurate.
