Daniel Heath who settled near East Enterprise donated the land for New Liberty Cemetery and his home place was the property where the oaks family used to live I think Riemans own it now He then moved to the west of East Enterprise and started a town Allensville named after his son Allen William Heath who got killed in the war of 1812 East Enterprise had the first newspaper in the county ran by Daniel Heath who owned the first printing press. East Enterprise Had a really nice park at one time. The last living owner was Paul Dean Lockwood (Chocky) as he was called. He donated the land to the East Enterprise Fire Department The park was a home for many years to the East Enterprise Ohio County fair. Having upwards of 6000 visitors a day during the fair. The Heath GAR lodge building used to stand on the NW corner of the intersection in town it was torn down to make a parking lot. It was named after Daniel Heats son who died in the war of 1812 so east Enterprise has been here longer than Indiana has been a state lol A lot of the oldest houses are being bought by the amish and torn down and now the state will get the rest of the town due to HWY 101 being brought through it. A real shame so much history will be lost. There isa real estate developer trying to buy up everyones homes along the route of the Highway. I assume to get rich. It is a shame that all the old people are gone and so many city folk and amish are there now so it is quite different than it used to be. I wish the fire dept would open up the park again. It used to have 80 acres deemed a park Im sure it isn’t that big now, so you see East Enterprise was quite the place to be in its hey day. It used to have 3 drs in town Fred and opal borrowed Dr Jonas Halls buggy to go to Vevay for ice-cream on their wedding day. The Brown family used to have a feed mill out 250 a piece. It burnt down many years ago and was a meeting place for all the old farmers of the area. Local drug testing refers to drug tests administered within a specific locality or community, often facilitated by local healthcare providers, testing facilities, or through workplace initiatives. This overview provides consumers with key information about the purposes, methods, and implications of local drug testing.

Purposes of Drug Testing

Drug testing serves several purposes:

  • Employment: Employers may require drug testing to ensure a safe and productive work environment, often as a part of pre-employment screening or randomly throughout employment.
  • Sports: Athletes are regularly tested to maintain fair competition and deter the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
  • Legal and Forensic: Drug testing can be ordered by courts in cases of drug-related offenses or in custody disputes.
  • Medical Reasons: Healthcare providers may perform drug tests to diagnose substance abuse disorders or monitor treatment efficacy.

Common Drug Testing Methods

Several methods are used for drug testing, each with its own specific applications and detection windows:

  1. Urine Testing: The most common method due to its non-invasiveness and ability to detect a wide range of substances within hours to a few weeks after use.
  2. Blood Testing: Provides a more accurate measurement of active substances in the body but is more invasive and used less frequently.
  3. Saliva Testing: Gaining popularity for its non-invasive nature and ability to detect recent drug use.
  4. Hair Follicle Testing: Can detect drug use over a longer period, typically up to 90 days, making it useful for detailed monitoring.

Legal and Ethical Considerations

Drug testing is governed by various legal and ethical guidelines that protect individuals' rights:

  • Consent: In most cases, individuals must provide informed consent before undergoing drug testing.
  • Privacy: Results from drug tests are considered private health information and must be handled according to privacy laws.
  • Accuracy: Testing facilities must adhere to strict standards to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.

Also many states such as Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, Wyoming, Ohio, Alabama, Arkansas, Washington provide by law a discount on workers compensation insurance rates provided a business qualifies as a Drug Free Workplace in accordance with state law.
