A military out-post during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, Jonesville is not a typical "Interstate town." Jonesville, originally called Allen's Settlement, is the oldest town in Yadkin County, North Carolina, United States, and was once recognized as the largest town west of Raleigh. The population was 2,285 at the 2010 census, however, it grew by nearly 800 residents in 2001 when it merged with neighboring Arlington. The county seat is Yadkinville.
