Local Area Info: Northview, Michigan

Northview is an unincorporated community in Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is defined as a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes and does not have any legal status as an incorporated municipality. The population was 14,541 at the 2010 census.

The CDP is almost entirely within Plainfield Charter Township and consists of the area north of the boundary with Grand Rapids and Grand Rapids Township and south of the Grand River. It also includes a small portion of Grand Rapids Township around the southern end of Dean Lake. It is considered part of the urbanized area around Grand Rapids.

M-44 (Beltline Avenue) and M-44 Connector (Plainfield Avenue) are the main roads through the community. Plainfield Avenue leads southwest 7 miles (11 km) to downtown Grand Rapids, while Beltline Avenue leads south 10 miles (16 km) to M-11 in Kentwood. Rockford is 6 miles (10 km) to the north.
