Greenland Township is a civil township of Ontonagon County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 870 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 113.2 square miles (293 km2), all land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 870 people, 378 households, and 246 families residing in the township. The population density was 7.7 per square mile (3.0/km²). There were 535 housing units at an average density of 4.7 per square mile (1.8/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 96.90% White, 0.34% Native American, 0.34% from other races, and 2.41% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.26% of the population.

There were 378 households out of which 24.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.1% were married couples living together, 5.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.7% were non-families. 30.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.30 and the average family size was 2.86.
