According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.6 square miles (9.2 km²), of which 3.5 square miles (9.0 km²) is land and 0.1 square mile (0.3 km²) (2.81%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 553 people, 192 households, and 147 families residing in the town. The population density was 159.7 people per square mile (61.7/km²). There were 211 housing units at an average density of 60.9 per square mile (23.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 96.75% White, 0.72% African American, 0.18% Native American, 0.90% Asian, 0.54% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.17% of the population.
There were 192 households out of which 42.2% included children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.1% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.4% were non-families. 20.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.14.
