Sundance (Lakota: Owíwa?ya?g Wa?hí; "Sun-Watching Dance") is a town in and the county seat of Crook County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 1,182 at the 2010 census. The town is named after the Sun Dance ceremony practiced by several American Indian tribes.
As of the census of 2010, there were 1,182 people, 532 households, and 326 families residing in the town. The population density was 387.5 inhabitants per square mile (149.6/km2). There were 606 housing units at an average density of 198.7 per square mile (76.7/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 97.8% White, 0.2% African American, 0.8% Native American, 0.4% from other races, and 0.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.
There were 532 households of which 25.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.5% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, 1.5% had a male householder with no wife present, and 38.7% were non-families. 33.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
