As of the census of 2000, there were 744 people, 379 households, and 206 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 283.6 people per square mile (109.6/km²). There were 663 housing units at an average density of 252.7 per square mile (97.7/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.16% White, 0.54% Native American, 0.54% Asian, 0.13% Pacific Islander, 1.48% from other races, and 2.15% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.23% of the population.

There were 379 households out of which 14.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.6% were married couples living together, 5.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 45.6% were non-families. 38.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.96 and the average family size was 2.54.

In the CDP, the population was spread out with 15.1% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 18 to 24, 20.8% from 25 to 44, 34.0% from 45 to 64, and 25.8% who were 65 years of age or older.
