As of the census of 2000, there were 698 people, 226 households, and 181 families residing in the town. The population density was 19.6 people per square mile (7.5/km²). There were 241 housing units at an average density of 6.8 per square mile (2.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.57% White, 0.14% African American, and 0.29% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.72% of the population.

The average household size was 3.09 and the average family size was 3.49.
