The Georgia General Assembly incorporated the place in 1839 as the "Town of Corinth". The community's name is a transfer from Ancient Corinth, in Greece. A post office was established at Corinth in 1833, and remained in operation until 1914.
As of the census of 2000, there were 213 people, 78 households, and 60 families residing in the community. The population density was 235.2 people per square mile (90.4/km²). There were 88 housing units at an average density of 97.2/sq mi (37.3/km²). The racial makeup of the community was 95.31% White, 4.23% African American, 0.47% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.29% of the population.
There were 78 households out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.6% were married couples living together, 21.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.8% were non-families. 19.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.73 and the average family size was 3.07.
