New Weston was founded in the 1880s during the construction of a railroad line through Allen Township by a predecessor of the Cincinnati, Jackson and Mackinaw Railroad. It was one of the last communities to be founded in Darke County.
As of the census of 2010, there were 136 people, 45 households, and 33 families residing in the village. The population density was 523.1 inhabitants per square mile (202.0/km2). There were 57 housing units at an average density of 219.2 per square mile (84.6/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.8% White, 1.5% African American, and 0.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.1% of the population.
There were 45 households of which 48.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.1% were married couples living together, 17.8% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.4% had a male householder with no wife present, and 26.7% were non-families. 20.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
