Every day, more than 130 people in the United States die after overdosing on opioids. As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 1,490 people, 562 households, and 423 families residing in the CDP. The racial makeup of the CDP was 85.7% White, 0.7% African American, 2.2% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 8.8% from other races, and 2.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 23.3% of the population.
There were 562 households out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.3% were married couples living together, 11.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.7% were non-families. 19.6% of all households were made up of individuals. The average household size was 2.94 and the average family size was 3.37.
In the CDP, the population was spread out with 27.0% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 23.7% from 25 to 44, 29.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.5% who were 65 years of age or older.
