As of the census of 2000, there were 855 people, 300 households, and 234 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,515.1 people per square mile (589.5/km²). There were 313 housing units at an average density of 554.6 per square mile (215.8/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 92.05% White, 0.23% African American, 0.47% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 4.56% from other races, and 2.34% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.84% of the population.
There were 300 households out of which 41.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.3% were married couples living together, 11.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.7% were non-families. 16.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.83 and the average family size was 3.16.
