Steinauer, locally pronounced "Steener", is a village in Pawnee County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 75 at the 2010 census.

The first settlement at Steinauer was made in the 1850s.

Steinauer was platted in 1886 when the railroad was extended to that point. It was named for Joseph A. Steinauer, an early settler and the first postmaster.
