Archaeological evidence indicates human habitation near the confluence of the Arkansas and Little Arkansas Rivers, the site of present-day Wichita, as early as 3000 B.C. In 1541, a Spanish expedition led by explorer Francisco Vázquez de Coronado found the area populated by the Quivira, or Wichita, people. Conflict with the Osage in the 1750s drove the Wichita further south. Prior to American settlement of the region, the site was in the territory of the Kiowa. Claimed first by France as part of Louisiana and later acquired by the United States with the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, it became part of Kansas Territory in 1854 and then the state of Kansas in 1861.

Choosing the Right Drug Testing Panel

Drug test panels refer to the number of substances screened and include 5, 10, and 12-panel options, plus customization.

Understanding Drug Tests

Drug testing involves examining biological specimens like urine, hair, blood, breath, and saliva for drugs or metabolites. It's used to detect steroids in sports, illegal drugs for employers and parole officers, and blood alcohol content for law enforcement.

Alcohol levels are typically measured via breathalyzer, while urine tests are common in sports and workplaces. Other methods vary in accuracy and detection period. Drug tests can provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of illegal substances.

Does Passive Smoke Inhalation Result in a False Positive for Marijuana?

"Passive" smoke inhalation, such as being in a room with marijuana smokers, is not considered a valid cause for false positives, as lab cut-off levels are set higher than passive exposure would cause.

Abnormalities like low creatinine levels may indicate tampering, such as overhydration before testing. Labs check creatinine against specific gravity to detect dilution, and may color toilet water to deter sample dilution.

  • Enzymes added to affect urine stability may alter pH, also tested by labs.
