Choosing the Right Drug Testing Panel

Drug test panels vary by the number of substances screened, the most utilized being 5, 10, and 12-panel tests. Customized screening is available to suit specific needs.

Understanding Drug Tests

Drug tests analyze biological samples — urine, hair, blood, saliva, sweat, or breath — to detect drug presence or metabolites. They're widely applied for detecting performance enhancement steroids, substances regulated by law, and BAC in alcohol-related checks (often with a breathalyzer).

Impact of Passive Smoke on Drug Tests

Exposure to passive marijuana smoke does not typically cause false positives since testing thresholds are set above levels achievable via passive exposure. Abnormalities in urine tests can indicate tampering, such as:

  • Low creatinine as a possible dilution indicator
  • Altered urine samples by consuming excess water or water addition
  • Enzyme addition, impacting pH levels, suggesting compromise attempts

Drug Presence Duration in the System

The detection window for any drug test depends on factors including:

  • Drug dosage
  • Frequency of use
  • Drug type
  • Individual metabolic response and health
  • Fluid intake since consumption
  • Exercise frequency post-consumption
  • Genetic disposition affecting drug metabolism

Local Area Info: Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Oshkosh is a city in Winnebago County, Wisconsin, United States, located where the Fox River enters Lake Winnebago from the west. The population was 66,083 at the 2010 census. The city is located adjacent to the Town of Oshkosh.

Oshkosh was named for Menominee Chief Oshkosh, whose name meant "claw" (cf. Ojibwe oshkanzh, "the claw"). Although the fur trade attracted the first European settlers to the area as early as 1818, it never became a major player in the fur trade. Soon after 1830, much of the trade moved west, as there had been over-trapping in the region.

The establishment and growth of the lumber industry in the area spurred development of Oshkosh. Already designated as the county seat, Oshkosh was incorporated as a city in 1853. It had a population of nearly 2,800.
