Selecting the Right Drug Testing Panel
The term "drug testing panel" refers to drug screening groups. Common panels include 5, 10, and 12-panel tests, depending on the number of drugs screened, with customizable options available.
Defining a Drug Test
A drug test analyzes biological specimens—such as urine, hair, blood, and more—to check for specific drugs or their metabolites. Drug testing is performed for athletics, employment, legal, and law enforcement purposes. Various methods with different accuracy levels and detection periods exist, allowing tests to quantitatively analyze the presence of illegal substances.
Can Passive Smoke Inhalation Trigger a False Positive for Marijuana?
"Passive" smoke exposure, such as being in a room with marijuana smokers, should not cause false positives. Lab analysis cut-off levels are set to avoid such occurrences.
Urine screen abnormalities might hint at a false negative or sample adulteration. For instance:
- Low creatinine values may suggest the sample was diluted, either by water consumption or extra water added.
- Samples might be examined for creatinine levels and specific gravity to check dilution. Testing labs might dye toilet water blue to prevent dilution attempts.
- Some might add enzymes to affect stability, which can change the sample's pH—another test factor.
Drug Duration in Your System
A drug test's detection window varies based on several parameters. Factors influencing a drug's duration in your system include:
- Drug amount taken
- Frequency of use
- Type of drug
- Metabolic rate and health of the individual
- Fluid intake post-drug use
- Exercise post-drug use
- Genetic differences impacting drug processing

Local Area Info: Ann Arbor, Michigan
Ann Arbor is home to the University of Michigan. The university significantly shapes Ann Arbor's economy as it employs about 30,000 workers, including about 12,000 in the medical center. The city's economy is also centered on high technology, with several companies drawn to the area by the university's research and development infrastructure.
Ann Arbor was founded in 1824, named for wives of the village's founders, both named Ann, and the stands of bur oak trees. The University of Michigan moved from Detroit to Ann Arbor in 1837, and the city grew at a rapid rate in the early to mid-20th century. During the 1960s and 1970s, the city gained a reputation as a center for left-wing politics. Ann Arbor became a focal point for political activism, such as opposition to the Vietnam War and support for the legalization of cannabis.
Ann Arbor was founded in 1824 by land speculators John Allen and Elisha Walker Rumsey. On May 25, 1824, the town plat was registered with Wayne County as "Annarbour", the earliest known use of the town's name. Allen and Rumsey decided to name it for their wives, both named Ann, and for the stands of bur oak in the 640 acres (260 ha) of land they purchased for $800 from the federal government at $1.25 per acre. The local Ojibwa named the settlement kaw-goosh-kaw-nick, after the sound of Allen's sawmill.
