Local Area Info: La Villa, Texas

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,305 people, 323 households, and 290 families residing in the city. The population density was 4,870.4 people per square mile (1,866.2/km²). There were 354 housing units at an average density of 1,321.2/sq mi (506.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 66.67% White, 0.08% African American, 0.38% Native American, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 30.34% from other races, and 2.45% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 98.08% of the population.

There were 323 households out of which 49.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.2% were married couples living together, 25.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 10.2% were non-families. 9.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 4.04 and the average family size was 4.35.

In the city, the population was spread out with 37.1% under the age of 18, 12.6% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 16.5% from 45 to 64, and 8.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 25 years. For every 100 females, there were 87.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.1 males.
