Local Area Info: Knollwood, Texas

Knollwood is located in north-central Grayson County at 33°41?15?N 96°37?10?W? / ?33.68750°N 96.61944°W? / 33.68750; -96.61944. It is bordered to the south by the city of Sherman, the county seat.

At the 2000 census, there were 375 people, 143 households and 91 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,196.4 per square mile (467.1/km²). There were 150 housing units at an average density of 478.6/sq mi (186.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 87.73% White, 5.87% African American, 0.53% Native American, 1.07% Asian, 0.53% Pacific Islander, 3.20% from other races, and 1.07% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.13% of the population.

There were 143 households of which 39.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.8% were married couples living together, 16.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.7% were non-families. 28.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.25.
