Alcohol Detection Periods
Breath Alcohol Current / Immediate | ETG - Urine 80 Hours | Standard Urine 1 - 2 Days |
Whether you want to detect current alcohol impairment, recent alcohol consumption, or alcohol usage within the past 3 days, Accredited Drug Testing offers the testing services that fit your needs.
Alcohol tests are administered for a variety of different reasons and greatly differ from drug tests. Drug tests (those that analyze samples of hair and urine) attempt to detect usage of illegal drugs over a lengthy time period, generally ranging from a week to several months. However, alcohol tests are aimed at detecting consumption of a legal - though regulated - substance within a much shorter timeframe. Rather than testing for past usage, an alcohol drug test will register only the immediate presence of alcohol in the human body.
Breath Alcohol Drug Test
Otherwise known as a breathalyzer, Breath Alcohol Test (BATs) make frequent appearances in sitcoms and crime shows. That is because they are quite commonly used given that the test is easy to administer and provides nearly instantaneous results. Police officers rely on breathalyzer exams to detect when drivers are on the road and above the legal alcohol limit. Because BATs provide only a current-moment snapshot of the body's blood alcohol content, they should only be administered when someone is required to be sober at the current time. Such cases would include driving a vehicle or operating heavy machinery.
Accredited Drug Testing centers are dedicated to providing accurate results every time. For that reason, our certified staff only administers DOT-approved Evidential Breath Testing devices (EBTs). Procedures are meticulously controlled to ensure that all results are admissible in a court of law.
DOT only permits a breath alcohol test. Urine alcohol tests are not permitted by the Department of Transportation. Therefore, a DOT regulated employee would take a 5 panel DOT urine test but only a breath alcohol test if required.
Urine Alcohol Drug Test Finally, for rare cases an EtG exam will be administered to determine if alcohol has been consumed over a 5 day period. EtGs are typically reserved for individuals undergoing a court-ordered sobriety or alcohol rehabilitation program.

Local Area Info: Reggae on the River
Reggae on the River (locally known Reggae) is an annual reggae festival on the first weekend in August in Humboldt County, California. It began in 1984 as a benefit for the Mateel Community Center, a nonprofit for southern Humboldt County, after an arsonist burnt down the community hall in Garberville. The board members at the time were Nancy Shelby and Carol Bruno who worked with Jack Arthur in organizing the festival to raise money for a new hall. It was held at French's Camp (a property located on a bend in the Eel River owned by the Arthur family near Piercy, California) every year until 2006 when financial issues forced the festival to be relocated for the next two years. In 2003 the annual festival celebrated its 20th year. A DVD featuring performances from the anniversary was released. It includes performances by Culture, Toots & the Maytals, Third World, Beres Hammond, Israel Vibration, Anthony B., and the Marley brothers.
The 2006 concert brought in far less money than previous years. Due to the move to a new site and the expenses incurred in removing equipment from the old location, the Mateel saw no revenue from the 2006 event. In 2007, the festival was canceled in the wake of a legal battle between the Mateel Community Center, People Productions (the company started by Carol Bruno after leaving her position at the Mateel), and Tom Dimmick, the owner of the property which hosted the festival in 2006. The dispute centered on revenues, with the Mateel questioning why profits estimated by People Productions did not materialize, why there was a discrepancy between the number of tickets approved and reported attendance and $300,000 in cash expenditures with no receipts. In the wake of the cancellation of Reggae on the River, People Productions in conjunction with Tom Dimmick produced their own reggae concert at Dimmick Ranch, which was called "Reggae Rising" and took place at Dimmick Ranch on the usual first weekend in August.
From 2008 the festival had occurred at Benbow Lake State Recreation Area, in Benbow, Calif., north of the event's original location on the Eel River. In 2013, Reggae on the River returned to its original location at French's Camp (just north of Piercy,CA.) and its original time, the first weekend of August (sometimes the event falls on the last weekend of July, or on the transition from the end of July to the beginning of August, depending on how weekends fall on the calendar year).
