The procedure used to perform a hair follicle test is simple, the drug testing specialist will cut approximately 120 strands of hair (not really a lot) utilize a chain of custody procedure and send the hair to a certified laboratory for analysis. Smithfield is a home rule-class city in Henry County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 106 at the 2010 census. The mayor of Smithfield is Greg Gephart.

Smithfield was a station on the Louisville and Cincinnati Railroad. A post office has been in operation in Smithfield since 1851.

It is 7 miles (11 km) southwest of New Castle, the Henry County seat, 8 miles (13 km) southeast of La Grange, and 32 miles (51 km) northeast of Louisville.
