The city is situated along U.S. Route 62 southwest of Beaver Dam and northeast of Central City. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 417 people, 161 households, and 118 families residing in the city. The population density was 599.9 people per square mile (230.0/km²). There were 186 housing units at an average density of 267.6 per square mile (102.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 100.00% White.
