Local Area Info: Royalton, Wisconsin

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.9 square miles (93.0 km²), of which, 33.6 square miles (87.1 km²) of it is land and 2.3 square miles (5.9 km²) of it (6.38%) is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1523 people, 524 households, and 406 families residing in the town. The population density was 45.3 people per square mile (17.5/km²). There were 608 housing units at an average density of 18.1 per square mile (7.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.56% White, 0.07% African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.53% Asian, and 0.53% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.07% of the population.

There were 524 households out of which 35.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.6% were married couples living together, 5.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.5% were non-families. 17.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.09.
