Local Area Info: Fall Creek, Wisconsin

Fall Creek was founded in 1870. The village was named after the rapids on a nearby creek. The post office was established in 1870 as Cousins, in honor of Eau Claire businessman Henry Cousins. The name was changed to Fall Creek four years later in July, 1874.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.09 square miles (5.41 km2), of which, 2.07 square miles (5.36 km2) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2) is water.

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,315 people, 517 households, and 354 families residing in the village. The population density was 635.3 inhabitants per square mile (245.3/km2). There were 553 housing units at an average density of 267.1 per square mile (103.1/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.9% White, 0.1% African American, 0.5% Native American, 0.8% Asian, 0.1% from other races, and 0.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.2% of the population.
