Local Area Info: Delphos, Ohio

Delphos is a city in Allen and Van Wert counties in the U.S. state of Ohio approximately 14 mi (23km) northwest of Lima and 13 mi (21km) east of Van Wert. The population was 7,101 at the 2010 census.

As of the census of 2010, there were 7,101 people, 2,893 households, and 1,865 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,064.2 inhabitants per square mile (797.0/km2). There were 3,137 housing units at an average density of 911.9 per square mile (352.1/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 97.5% White, 0.4% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.4% from other races, and 1.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.8% of the population.

There were 2,893 households of which 31.2%, had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.3% were married couples living together, 11.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.2% had a male householder with no wife present, and 35.5% were non-families. 29.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 3.00.
