North Pekin is a village in Tazewell County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,574 at the 2000 census. North Pekin is a suburb of Peoria and is part of the Peoria, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the 2010 census, North Pekin has a total area of 1.708 square miles (4.42 km2), of which 1.68 square miles (4.35 km2) (or 98.36%) is land and 0.028 square miles (0.07 km2) (or 1.64%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,574 people, 602 households, and 462 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,359.9 people per square mile (523.9/km²). There were 634 housing units at an average density of 547.8 per square mile (211.0/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 97.78% White, 0.44% Native American, 0.64% Asian, 0.06% from other races, and 1.08% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.38% of the population.
