About Papillion
Local Area Info: Papillion, Nebraska
Papillion is a city in Sarpy County in the state of Nebraska. It is an 1870s railroad town and suburb of Omaha. The city is part of the larger five-county metro area of Omaha, and is the county seat of Sarpy County. The population of Papillion was 18,894 at the 2010 census.
The city was named after the creek of the same name which flows through its center. The name Papillion (papillon) is derived from the French term for butterfly. According to local tradition the early French explorers named the creek Papillion because many butterflies were found along its grassy banks. Papillion was platted in 1870 when the railroad was extended to that point. Papillion (sometimes referred to as "Papio" by its residents) is one of the last of the late 18th-century, Paris-inspired frontier cities left in the Midwestern United States.
Halleck Park, a recreation area in the heart of the city, includes many trails, open spaces, trees and a number of areas of interest, including Papio Fun Park, Papio Bay Aquatic Park, Papio Pool, and Papio Bowl. In addition to trails, trees and much green space, inside the park are tennis courts, volleyball courts, playgrounds, "The Duck Pond", Monarch Field ("The Pit"), and E.A. Fricke Field.

Businesses that utilize an employee drug testing program are commonly referred to as a Drug Free Workplace. The benefits of being a true Drug Free Workplace can include but are not limited to:
- Enhanced Employee Performance
- Reduced Job-Related Accidents
- Reduced Employee Absenteeism
- Lower Workers Compensation Rates
- Improved Employee Moral
- Customer Satisfaction
In addition, many companies regardless of size report that being a Drug Free Workplace has increased the quality of job applicants and improved the overall workplace environment.
Also many states such as Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, Wyoming, Ohio, Alabama, Arkansas, Washington provide by law a discount on workers compensation insurance rates provided a business qualifies as a Drug Free Workplace in accordance with state law.
States Which Provide Workers Compensation Discounts for Drug Free Workplace Programs
Alabama 5% | Arkansas 5% | Florida 5% |
Kentucky 5% | Misissippi 5% | Ohio 5% |
Tennessee 5% | Virginia 5% | Washington 5% |
Accredited Drug Testing Inc will work with your insurance agent to ensure that any available discounts are provided for implementing and properly maintaining a drug free workplace.
Any company can benefit by being a Drug Free Workplace regardless of the number of employees, but it is crucially important that any business that wishes to be a Drug Free Workplace maintain the program properly.

Papillion is now Nebraska's home of Triple-A minor league baseball. Werner Park, located less than three miles (5ÃÂ km) west of the city on Highway 370 in unincorporated Sarpy County, opened in 2011 as the new home of the Omaha Storm Chasers of the Pacific Coast League. The Storm Chasers were formerly the Omaha Royals; after 42 years at Rosenblatt Stadium in south Omaha, the team moved out following the 2010 season and changed their nickname. They have been the only AAA-affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, an expansion club that entered the American League in 1969.
