According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 33.3 square miles (86.3 km²), of which, 31.9 square miles (82.7 km²) of it is land and 1.4 square miles (3.7 km²) of it (4.23%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 382 people, 165 households, and 103 families residing in the town. The population density was 12.0 people per square mile (4.6/km²). There were 263 housing units at an average density of 8.2 per square mile (3.2/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 96.34% White, 0.26% Native American, 0.26% Asian, 0.26% Pacific Islander, and 2.88% from two or more races.
