According to the 2010 census, Keensburg has a total area of 0.26 square miles (0.67 km2), all land. Keensburg is connected to the nearby towns of Mount Carmel and Grayville by Illinois Route 1. Keensburg sits on the Wabash River and is host to Beall Woods State Park.
