Ellisville is located in northwestern Fulton County at 40°37?37?N 90°18?18?W? / ?40.62694°N 90.30500°W? / 40.62694; -90.30500 (40.627035, -90.304994), on the west side of the Spoon River, a south-flowing tributary of the Illinois River. Ellisville is 19 miles (31 km) northwest of Canton and 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Bushnell.
As of the 2000 United States Census, there were 87 people, 41 households, and 28 families residing in the village. The population density was 320.6 people per square mile (124.4/km²). There were 47 housing units at an average density of 173.2 per square mile (67.2/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 100.00% White.
There were 41 households out of which 14.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.4% were married couples living together, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.3% were non-families. 29.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.12 and the average family size was 2.59.
