According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.98 square miles (2.54 km2), of which 0.96 square miles (2.49 km2) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2) is water. The city is located in Sections 17 and 18 of Hendricks Township (T112N R46W), along the northeast shore of Lake Hendricks, the source of the Lac qui Parle River.

As of the census of 2010, there were 713 people, 326 households, and 185 families residing in the city. The population density was 742.7 inhabitants per square mile (286.8/km2). There were 378 housing units at an average density of 393.8 per square mile (152.0/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 99.3% White, 0.1% African American, 0.3% Native American, and 0.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.1% of the population.

There were 326 households of which 19.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.4% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 43.3% were non-families. 40.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 24.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.01 and the average family size was 2.64.
