As of the census of 2000, there were 296 people, 118 households, and 92 families residing in the city. The population density was 280.2 people per square mile (107.8/km²). There were 122 housing units at an average density of 115.5 per square mile (44.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 91.22% White, 7.77% African American, 0.34% Asian, and 0.68% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.01% of the population.
There were 118 households out of which 33.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.1% were married couples living together, 8.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.2% were non-families. 20.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
