As of the census of 2000, there were 3,440 people, 1,114 households, and 817 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,785.1 people per square mile (688.2/km²). There were 1,179 housing units at an average density of 611.8/sq mi (235.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 63.02% White, 26.51% African American, 0.38% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 7.33% from other races, and 2.62% from two or more races.
