A post office called Conger has been in operation since 1901. Conger was named by railroad officials.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.12 square miles (0.31 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2010, there were 146 people, 62 households, and 38 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,216.7 inhabitants per square mile (469.8/km2).
