Prior to the 2010 census, the CDP had parts annexed to the cities of Austin and Round Rock and lost additional area, reducing its total area of 7.0 square miles (18 km2), of which, 6.93 square miles (17.9 km2) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 km2) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 15,371 people, 4,805 households, and 4,252 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,764.8 people per square mile (681.4/km2).
