Gilby is a city in Grand Forks County, North Dakota, United States. It is part of the "Grand Forks, ND-MN Metropolitan Statistical Area" or "Greater Grand Forks". The population was 237 at the 2010 census. Gilby was founded in 1887.
As of the census of 2010, there were 237 people, 98 households, and 68 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,394.1 inhabitants per square mile (538.3/km2). There were 110 housing units at an average density of 647.1 per square mile (249.8/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 94.5% White, 1.7% from other races, and 3.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.6% of the population.
