Alsen is a city in Cavalier County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 35 at the 2010 census. Alsen was founded in 1905.

Alsen is located on State Route 66 approximately 8 miles (13 km) west of Loma.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 29.88 square miles (77.39 km2), of which, 29.36 square miles (76.04 km2) is land and 0.52 square miles (1.35 km2) is water.

As of the census of 2010, there were 35 people, 16 households, and 11 families residing in the city. The population density was 1.2 inhabitants per square mile (0.5/km2).
