According to the 2010 census, Sherrard has a total area of 1.162 square miles (3.01 km2), of which 0.93 square miles (2.41 km2) (or 80.03%) is land and 0.232 square miles (0.60 km2) (or 19.97%) is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 694 people, 271 households, and 201 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,658.2 people per square mile (638.0/km²). There were 276 housing units at an average density of 659.5 per square mile (253.7/km²).
