Hair Follicle Drug Test

In recent years the method to conduct drug testing has more frequently included a hair follicle drug test. Many employers, courts and Substance Abuse Professional are requiring a hair follicle drug test instead of a standard urine test. Hair follicle drug tests are used by employers who have zero tolerance drug use policies, courts and individuals on probation. The primary benefit of a hair follicle drug test include a much longer detection period for drug use which typically is up to 90 days. However, when screening drug use within the last 5 days the urine test continues to be the most accurate test.

Hair Follicle Drug Test Process

The procedure used to perform a hair follicle test is simple, the drug testing specialist will cut approximately 120 strands of hair (not really a lot) utilize a chain of custody procedure and send the hair to a certified laboratory for analysis. Drug testing centers require at least 1.5 inches of hair to perform this test and the hair generally needs to come from the head, however if the donor does not have head hair certain testing centers can use hair from chest, leg or arm pit.

If a donor has no hair on their body, than a hair test cannot be performed!

Hair Follicle Drug Test Results

Once the hair follicles have been analyzed by a certified laboratory they will then be reviewed and then verified by a Medical Review Officer (licensed Physician) who will than release the results. Generally a negative hair follicle drug test result is available in 2-3 days. A non-negative hair follicle drug test is available in approximately 5 days.

Urine cut-off levels are expressed in nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL) or as a weight of drug per unit volume of urine. Hair cut-off levels are expressed in picograms per milligram (pg/mg) or as a weight of drug per unit weight of hair

Local Area Info: Vermont Route 125

Vermont Route125 is a 35.901-mile-long (57.777km) state highway in Addison County, Vermont, United States. The route begins at an intersection for VT17 in the town of Addison near the Champlain Bridge. The route runs through the towns of Bridport, Middlebury, Ripton and the Green Mountain National Forest before reaching a junction with VT100 in Hancock. Parts of VT125 from Bridport to Middlebury were designated as Vermont Route F-8 by 1926, but was truncated by 1931 to a segment between West Bridport and VT30A (current-day VT22A). The section between VT30A and Middlebury had been designated as Vermont Route19. VT19 began at VT17 in Chimney Point, terminating at VT30 in Middlebury. VT125 had been designated between US7 in Middlebury to VT100 in Hancock by 1935, but by 1949, had absorbed the entirety of VT19 to Chimney Point.

VT125 begins at an intersection with VT17 in the Chimney Point section of Addison just after the latter comes off the Champlain Bridge from Crown Point. VT125 runs southeast through the Chimney Point State Historic Site as Bridge Road, a two-lane local road. Running along the western shore of Lake Champlain, the route passes several housing developments in the town of Addison, crossing south over a local tributary of the lake. Winding southeast, VT125 crosses through the flats of Addison County, crossing into the town of Bridport. Turning away from the lake shore, VT125 turns east at the junction with Lake Street, soon bending southeast through the flats in Bridport. At West Market Street, the route turns eastward again, reaching the hamlet of Bridport.

In Bridport, VT125 reaches a junction with VT22A, where the two routes become concurrent, while VT125's old right-of-way continues east as Market Road. VT125 and VT22A run south for a short stretch in Bridport, with VT125 quickly turning to the east. Continuing through farms in the town of Bridport, the route runs up a ridge in town, making a southern bend at the ridge. Crossing the Lemon Fair River, VT125 turns east again at West Street and begins paralleling the river. The river soon turns to the north, running east to Hamlin Road, where it turns northeast. The route soon enters dense woods, leaving them for fields again near Ridge Road. After a northeastern jog, VT125 turns eastward at Lemon Fair Road. Now in the town of Cornwall, VT125 runs east into the town of Middlebury.
