GC/MS, GC/MS/MS or LC/MS/MS are employed to confirm any positive screening results. Presumptively positive samples undergo washing as necessary before confirmation. The complete lab process from Accessioning to Confirmation is assessed following both the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Hair man-date and the ISO / IEC 17025 accreditation standards.
