Which Drug Testing Panel Is Suitable for You?

The term "drug testing panel" refers to screening groups, typically including 5-panel, 10-panel, and 12-panel tests that determine the number of drugs screened. Customized options are available too.

What is a Drug Test?

Drug tests are technical analyses of biological specimens (urine, hair, blood, breath, sweat, and/or saliva) to identify the presence or absence of drugs or their metabolites. These tests have several applications, including detecting sports-enhancing drugs, screening by employers or parole officers, and determining blood alcohol content (BAC) via breathalyzer. Most workplace and sports tests utilize urinalysis.

Does Passive Smoke Inhalation Cause a Marijuana False Positive?

Passive smoke inhalation from being near marijuana smokers will not result in a false positive, as lab thresholds are set higher than passive exposure would affect.

Abnormalities in urine screens could suggest false negatives or sample tampering. Consider the following:

  • Low creatinine levels could indicate sample tampering, possibly due to drinking excessive water pre-test or sample dilution with added water.
  • Creatinine levels and specific gravity are checked to identify dilution; testing facilities may use colored toilet water to prevent sample dilution.
  • Some may try to alter enzyme levels in samples, but this may change the pH, which is also evaluated.

How Long Do Drugs Stay in Your System?

The detection window of a drug test varies by several factors such as:

  • Quantity of drug used
  • Frequency of drug use
  • Type of drug used
  • Individual metabolic rate and overall health
  • Fluid intake post-drug use
  • Physical activity post-drug use
  • Genetic differences affecting drug response

Local Area Info: Peoria, Illinois

Peoria (/pi???ri?/ pee-OR-ee-?) is the county seat of Peoria County, Illinois, and the largest city on the Illinois River. Established in 1691 by the French explorer Henri de Tonti, Peoria is the oldest European settlement in Illinois, and is named after the Peoria tribe. As of the 2010 census, the city was the seventh-most populated in Illinois (and the third largest outside the Chicago metropolitan area), with a population of 115,007. The Peoria Metropolitan Statistical Area had a population of 373,590 in 2011. Until 2018, Peoria was the global and national headquarters for Caterpillar Inc., one of the 30 companies composing the Dow Jones Industrial Average, and listed on the Fortune 100; in the latter year, the company relocated its headquarters to Deerfield, Illinois.

Peoria is one of the oldest settlements in Illinois, as explorers first ventured up the Illinois River from the Mississippi. The lands that eventually would become Peoria were first settled by Europeans in 1680,[citation needed] when French explorers René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle and Henri de Tonti constructed Fort Crevecoeur. This fort would later burn to the ground, and in 1813 Fort Clark, Illinois was built. When the County of Peoria was organized in 1825, Fort Clark was officially named Peoria.

Peoria was named after the Peoria tribe, a member of the Illinois Confederation. The original meaning of the word is uncertain. A 21st-century proposal suggests a derivation from a Proto-Algonquian word meaning "to dream with the help of a manitou."
