Local Area Info: West Point, Alabama

As of the census of 2000, there were 295 people, 114 households, and 89 families residing in the town. The population density was 254.8 people per square mile (98.2/km²). There were 140 housing units at an average density of 120.9 per square mile (46.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White. 0.68% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 114 households out of which 35.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.0% were married couples living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.9% were non-families. 21.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 2.96.

In the town, the population was spread out with 26.8% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 27.1% from 25 to 44, 27.8% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
